If you thought 2025 was busy, 2026 is shaping up to be an absolute powerhouse for Disney, Pixar, and Marvel. From long-awaited sequels to some incredibly unique original stories, here is the full checklist of everything we’ll be watching on the big and small screens this year.

Looking at that list, I honestly can’t wait for the year ahead. Seeing Star Wars return to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu feels like a massive moment we’ve been waiting years for, and the hype for Robert Downey Jr.’s return in Avengers: Doomsday is very, very real.
On the animation front, I have to say that Hoppers is right at the top of my list – the trailer looks like such great fun and it’s exactly the kind of quirky original story Pixar does best. What are you most excited for in 2026? Let me know in the comments!
2025 proved an exciting year for Disney fans and there was plenty to keep us busy and occupied with as the years went on. Below, I’ve recapped some of the most notable highlights, across new movies, theme park news and various other topics.
Movies
Movies were in plentiful supply in 2025 from the Walt Disney Company, with Disney, Pixar and Marvel all releasing blockbuster hits. Snow White released back in March to a storm of controversy that seemed to overshadow the film itself. Things did pick up later in the year with the positive release of Lilo & Stitch in May which grossed $1.038 billion and became the third-highest-grossing film of 2025 and the highest-grossing live-action/animated hybrid in history.
On the animated front, Zootopia 2 broke further records for Disney, having the highest grossing opening weekend for an animated movie. Pixar’s Elio released in June to generally positive reviews, however a severe lack of marketing for the movie in the lead up to its release led to it underperforming at the box office.
2025 proved a busy year for Marvel Studios too, with three feature length movies hitting the big screen. Captain America: Brave New World released back in February to mixed reviews and a fairly poor box office performance by Marvel standards, with President Kevin Feige citing the film’s disappointing $415 million box office performance to the absence of fan-favourite Chris Evans. Both Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps also released in 2025, both of which receiving generally positive reviews.
There were plenty of other movies released last year that too deserve a special mention including Freakier Friday, Tron: Ares and of course Avatar: Fire and Ash.
TV Series
It was also a busy year for TV Series for Disney, with a number of new and original series arriving to Disney+, as well as returning fan favourite series.
2025 saw the highly anticipated season 2 of Andor arrive and I have to say, this may just have been one of my highlights of the year! The series received fantastic critical acclaim and received twenty-two nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards, winning five in 2025, including a huge win for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.Marvel also had a busy year with TV series, with Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart joining the MCU, with both received generally positive reviews across the board.
The first ever Pixar long-form television series released in the form of Win or Lose, a coming of age comedy drama centred around a softball team called the Pickles. The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians arrived to Disney+, as well as the revival of the iconic Phineas and Ferb with its fifth season.
Theme Parks
The biggest event of the year was Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary, with a number of events and celebrations to commemorate its 70th anniversary.
One of the biggest pieces of theme park related news in 2025 was the announcement of the Disney Abu Dhabi project which was officially unveiled as a major partnership with Miral. While an official opening date is yet to be announced (though rumours point to 2030), it will be Disney’s first theme park resort in the Middle East, opening up a host of new and excited adventures for a brand new audience.

We also said an emotional goodbye to Muppet*Vision 3D which permanently closed its doors at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, much to the disappointment of Disney fans across the globe. Phased closures also began at Animal Kingdom’s Dinoland U.S.A. as it prepares for a ‘Tropical Americas’ retheming.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line saw a brand new ship launch in November 2025 with the magnificent Disney Destiny. With a capacity for 4,000 passengers the “Heroes and Villains” themed ship features the debut of Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, a first-of-its-kind musical dinner show, and The Sanctum, the first Doctor Strange-inspired lounge at sea. Early reviews of the Disney Destiny have been fairly positive, particularly amongst families with mixed-age kids and adults seeking a more mature sailing experience.
Merchandise
It’s very hard to summarise all of the new releases when it comes to Disney merchandise as it is a never ending cycle at times! That being said, there were a few particular new releases of note, particularly with some of the Disney LEGO sets released over the past 12 months. From the affordable display pieces like the Pixar Luxo Jr. and WALL-E and EVE sets, to the more extravagant LEGO Icons Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship (The Black Pearl) which brought back the return of the fan favourite LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean theme.
Trading cards also saw a massive surge in popularity across the board in 2025 and Disney trading cards also exploded in 2025 across released from Topps, Kakawow and Lorcana. 2026 looks set to continue this trend with a number of other sets due for release across all three of these manufacturers.
As a big LEGO and card collector, 2025 proved an expensive year for myself!
Commercial Performance
Commercially, Disney had a fantastic year, crossing a massive milestone in 2025, reaching nearly $94.4 billion in annual revenue (up 3% from 2024). Despite strong earnings, the stock remained volatile throughout the year, fluctuating between a low of $80 and a high of $124 as investors weighed streaming wins against declining traditional TV. The Parks and Experiences division reached a record $10 billion in annual operating income, remaining the company’s most reliable and resilient “cash cow.”
2025 Milestone

Newest Destination
Disney Abu Dhabi (Announced May 2025)

Disney Destiny (Launched Nov 2025)

All in all, 2025 proved a successful year for the Walt Disney Company, not just commercially, but positive critical responses across movies proved that there’s still life in the mouse yet!

It’s already been a fantastic year for Lego fans like myself, who have been blessed with some brilliant new sets. Lego Disney sets have been plentiful this year, and just this week, Lego have announced a brand new set which has just jumped up to number 1 on my Lego wish list!
Launching on September 1st, Lego are set to release the brand new WALL-E and EVE! set, featuring the two titular characters, along with fellow robot M-O and WALL-E’s cockroach friend, Hal.
The set looks brilliant and the brick depictions of all of the four characters are instantly recognisable to those of the movie. WALL-E looks great and I particularly like the brush of dirt across his front. Lots of comparisons will be drawn to the WALL-E Lego Ideas set which released back in 2015 and to be fair, I think the 2025 version looks just as good.
The rest of the characters have also really impressed me and I love the little touches and references to the movie. The inclusion of both M-O and Hal really put a smile on my face when I saw this set announced; the set could have simply just been WALL-E and EVE and I would be over the moon, but I really appreciate the inclusion of these side characters.

What is probably the cherry on top of a spectacular set, is the very nice looking price tag. Priced at £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99, I think the set is great value for money, particularly considering the fact that Disney sets generally come at more of a premium than the other Lego lines.

I often refer to 2015’s WALL-E set as “the one that got away”, so I’m thrilled that I can finally get my hands on an official Lego WALL-E set. For me, this is an absolute day one purchase!
The Lego WALL-E and EVE! set releases on September 1st at Lego and other select retailers. What do you think of the set? Will you be picking it up? Let me know in the comments.

As part of my predictions for the upcoming Disneyland Abu Dhabi resort announced back in May, I compared the price of tickets across the global Disney resorts and the difference in pricing was quite astounding. I’ve decided to deep dive into this and look at how much each entry to each Disney resort costs, in 2025.
Now, it’s important to note that the majority of Disney Parks employ a dynamic pricing model, meaning ticket prices can fluctuate based on the date of visit, number of days spent at the park, park hopper options, ticket type, add-ons and of course, any additional taxes.
Character experiences are a priceless part of the Disney magic! (Image Credit: Pexels)
For the purpose of this blog post, I’ve focused on the pricing of an adult, for a single park day ticket (dated) on Wednesday 17th September 2025. From what I could find, there are no specific events or reasons why park tickets on these days should incur any additional costs to standard days, though it’s worth noting that some parks often begin their Halloween celebrations in September, which can influence crowd levels and sometimes pricing.
Note: Shanghai Disneyland only allows you to book tickets 1-month in advance, so I have used the standard 1-day ticket price which appears to be consistent across the next few weeks. Given this coincides with the Chinese summer holidays, the data may be a little skewed.
Here’s the breakdown of park ticket costs, from most expensive to least expensive:

Magic Kingdom Park (Florida)

Rather unsurprisingly, the US theme parks lead the way in being the most expensive Disney Parks across the world. Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is the most expensive Disney park globally at $144 for a single-day ticket, with Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom just behind them. Given that Walt Disney World is the most visited vacation resort in the world, as well as being the biggest by size and the most expensive resort to run, it’s not a huge shock these ticket prices are incredibly expensive.
What is perhaps surprising about the American theme parks, is the vast difference in price compared to their global counterparts. The cheapest Disney Park tickets are found in Japan, at Tokyo’s Disneyland and DisneySea, which offer single day tickets at just $63 – more than half the cost of a ticket to three out of the four Florida parks.
Whilst I am yet to personally visit Tokyo Disney Resort (believe me, it’s on my bucket list!), I’ve heard nothing but good things about the theme park; brilliant shows, fantastic rides and amazing merchandise. The fact that the park tickets are the cheapest globally only compounds how much value for money it is.
On off-peak days, Disneyland Paris comes in as one of the most affordable Disney park tickets globally! (Image Credit: Pexels)
Given the generally lower costs in Asia, the pricing isn’t too surprising. I was pleasantly surprised to see both of the Paris parks coming in at only $75 for a single day ticket, ranking it as the second cheapest Disney resort (on 17th September 2025).
Shanghai Disneyland ranked as the most expensive theme park outside of the United States. This did surprise me, particularly given how much cheaper Hong Kong and Tokyo compare, however I definitely think it’s worth taking Shanghai Disneyland’s pricing with a pinch of salt. As mentioned above, I wasn’t able to look at booking more than 1 month ahead, so I’ve had to use an average price over the next month. Given this coincides with the Chinese summer holidays, this data is probably a little skewed.
What this does emphasise, however, is how using set pricing for park tickets, allows for accurate planning and budgeting for upcoming trips. Tokyo is the only Disney resort that actually has a tiered pricing system for daily park tickets, published well in advance, offering more predictability (excluding special events which increase ticket prices). All of the other resorts use a dynamic pricing range, where ticket prices fluctuate depending on a number of factors. This does mean, and it’s extremely important to note, that the ranking of the park ticket prices can in fact vary day by day.
Below I’ve listed the range of prices for park tickets at the resorts, taken from my Disney Abu Dhabi predictions post back in May.

Ultimately, this deep dive into 2025 Disney Park ticket prices reveals a fascinating landscape of value and cost across the globe. While Disney ticket prices in 2025 can fluctuate significantly on a daily basis, my comparison offers a clear guide to where your money goes furthest. Be sure to always check the official park websites for the exact cost on your chosen dates.
Did any of these price differences surprise you? Which park do you think offers the best value for money? Let us know in the comments!
Last month, while heading home from a three-month-long campervan road trip around Europe, I thought it would be rude not to make a quick stop at Disney Village in Paris on my way back to the UK. So that’s exactly what I did.
I’d visited Disneyland Paris earlier this year and at that time, the Disney Village was under a huge amount of construction, with various stores closed as they were refurbished ahead of summer. Renovations were still going ahead during my visit last month, but thankfully, only to a small section of the Village itself and the newly refurbished shops were ready for me to shop in and enjoy the much-needed air conditioning!
Disney Glamour
First up, was the Disney Glamour store, home to various bits of Disney jewellery and expensive branded handbags. The store feels extremely premium and there was an overwhelming number of stunning Disney jewellery pieces. I didn’t hang around for too long in this section of the store, partly because of the price tags, but also because I rather embarrassingly walked into the sliding door by mistake! For reference, the door opens a lot slower than you think!
Some of the beautiful handbags on display!
Disney Style
The Disney Style store sits next to the Glamour store and actually opens up into it, but with Style focusing on clothing and there’s plenty of diversity between children’s and adults clothing. The layout is fairly similar to how it was previously, but the modern and clean aesthetic to the store makes it feel much more refreshed compared to how it was for many years.
A fantastic Up inspired handbag.
LEGO Store
Next up was the LEGO Store, which much like Disney Glamour retained much of its original layout, but all feeling much more refreshed. Outside, there is a brand new LEGO Disney themed statue featuring characters like Woody, Mickey, Minnie, Elsa and Peter Pan – a perfect place for a photo. Inside the store, there is a brand new centrepiece of a LEGO magical Mickey which honestly looks incredible. There are a number of other LEGO Disney statues and display pieces dotted around the store – I’d recommend spending some time looking out for them.
Perfect place for photos!
Deco by Disney
The final refurbished store to visit was Deco by Disney, offering Disney inspired homeware and artwork. This was always one of my favourite stores in the Disney Village as I loved all of the artwork and memorabilia that were on sale. Unfortunately, Deco by Disney appears to be much more focused on the homeware, rather than the one of a kind display pieces that were previously available. There was a small section dedicated to artwork, but I found it rather lacking.
Despite the omission of artwork and memorabilia, the layout of the store is fairly simple and easy to navigate, with wooden beams running along the ceiling, giving the store a vibrant, modern look. This store actually used to be two stories, with a long winding ramp taking shoppers to the 1st floor where the majority of the artwork pieces were showcased. The decision to condense the store does make sense and looks all the better for it, it’s just come at the cost of a severe lack of art and collectibles.
Even in June, there are Christmas decorations for sale!
Final Thoughts
All in all, the newly refurbished Disney Village stores look absolutely fantastic – more modern, inviting, and definitely more in line with the high standards you’d expect at a Disney resort.
It does beg the question though, when will the World of Disney and Disney Store get the same treatment? Compared to these new refurbs, they’re starting to feel pretty dated. With the Frozen-themed land set to open in 2026, I wouldn’t be surprised if those bigger stores are next on the list.
Have you visited the newly refurbished stores at the Disney Village lately? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
